Get Bleam at the App Store

Thank you for using Bleam!

If you enjoy this app, please support us with a positive review. If you have ideas for improvement, give us feedback. Thanks!

The bar on the bottom allows you to quickly navigate through Bleam’s features. Here’s how they work:

Bleams

gives you access to all of the messages you have sent and received during the Bleam session. The messages are listed in reverse chronological order. This is the main screen from which you operate the Bleam app.

You can send messages from this screen by tapping on the text entry field at the top. You can also clear out or archive all of the Bleams on this screen by tapping the button on the top left.

Bleamers

shows you who in your proximity is also using Bleam.

You can also view every person you have ever Bleamed by tapping on the ‘All Time’ control at the top of this screen. Tapping on any of the individual rows in the main screen will present that Bleamer’s profile.

Archives

shows all of your previously saved Bleams sessions – a complete record of all your Bleaming activity.

Revisit sessions in the Archive by simply tapping an individual Bleam record and viewing it. Then they will appear just as they would on the main Bleams screen, giving you the ability to view the different messages, save photos and contacts, etc.

My Info

is where you enter information about yourself to be made available to other Bleamers.

You can enter information like nickname, a profile picture or avatar and a short statement describing yourself. You can also promote your website and Twitter presence to other Bleamers by including that information in your info.

Troubleshooting

If your having trouble with devices connecting up on Bluetooth:

  • Be sure Bluetooth is on under Settings > General > Bluetooth.
  • Turn Bluetooth off and then on again under Settings > General > Bluetooth and then start Bleam.
  • The most straightforward way to get a device out of this state and back to connecting with other Bleamers is to simply reboot your phone or iPod. To do this, hold down the power button at the top of the device until you see the Red Slider that says ‘Slide to Power Off’. Then slide that slider to the right. Wait for the phone to power off. Then, press and hold the power button at the top again in order to turn the phone back on. Once the phone has rebooted you can start Bleam and it should connect. Rebooting the phone is the best way and most surefired way to get the device back into a state where it can connect to other Bleamers. There are some other benefits to rebooting your phone periodically. In fact, almost all of your apps, and all aspects of the phone itself, will run better after a reboot.
